Ethical Practice with LGB & T Clients: for Christian Clinicians

How does a Christian mental health practitioner with theologically conservative Biblical beliefs ethically serve people identifying as LGB & T?  What are approaches for remaining true to the Lord while also submitting to secular standards of practice?  Do codes of ethics for practitioners conflict with spirituality?  This webinar will explore these and other questions that may arise in the context of secular practice by Christian clinicians.

In this diverse discussion, part 3 of 4 summer sexuality series, Amy Mitchell, MSW, LCSW, LISW, CAADC, will draw from her decades of experience in church leadership and change ministries, in addition to her clinical education and practice to lead a discussion regarding how Christians can work effectively and ethically with clients who may identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender.

  • Live Discussions for Christian helping professionals and students; conversations, interviews, and Q & A with experts and professionals.
  • Topics include working with diverse populations and challenging issues from a Christian worldview.
  • Focus is on integrating faith and practice to increase skills, knowledge, and ability to effectively engage and serve others in pluralistic contexts.
